Growing up in Cyprus, I used to think that no beach is better than the salty waters of Mediterranean and our sandy beaches are the best. Then I saw turquoise waters and sugary white beaches of Destin, Florida and fell in love at first sight. This is the reason we bought beach condos in Destin. We visit regularly as a family and rent them ourselves. We have a total of 7 units at Pelican Beach Resort. Waterscape, Majestic Sun at Seascape Resort and Luau, Bahia, Elation & G. Sandestin at Sandestin Resort are our other locations. They are all by the beach and are updated. You can expect same great service and same attention to detail for all our condos in the area. Location: Pelican Beach Resort is less than 3 miles away to Destin Marina in the heart of Destin close to many attractions and restaurants. We are opposite Big Kahuna Water Park and famous restaurants like Back Porch and Cracklings (for breakfast) are all within walking distance. Destin Harbour is just a couple miles away with plenty of attractions. Nearby Activities: We recommend a visit to Destin Marina and Harborwalk Village; there are nice restaurants with a view (AJ’s is the most famous one), kids activities as well as water sports. At nights, you can check if they have fireworks. Sunset is great. You can rent Pontoons or other motorboats with your driver license and sail around the Crab Island (under the bridge) or around. There are play parks in the sea. Google ‘Destin Pontoon Rental’ and call them for availability. Henderson Beach State Park is a park with limited facilities (restrooms, grill area) but a nice beach. Topsail Hill State park is a further and larger national park, where you can walk in the woods or rent bikes around the lakes and to the shore. Entrance is from W County Hwy 30A. Bike rental closes at 5 o’clock but you can drop your bikes back when they are closed. Visit Village of Baytowne Wharf preferably at night, there are kid’s activities, a large playground as well as great restaurants and shopping. There is live music and entertainment too. Also do not miss the fireworks. Sunset is also great there. Our favorite restaurants are Back Porch, Crab Trap, Acme Oyster House, Bayou Bill’s Crab House, Stinky’s Fish Camp and Aegean (Greek). We also recommend a visit to the Silver Sands Premium Outlets, 8 miles to the east. They sell designer brands at a discount. Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park, Okaloosa Island Fishing Pier, Wild Willy’s Adventure Zone, Gulf Breeze Zoo & Botanical Gardens, Eden State Gardens, Emerald Coast Science Center, and Big Kahuna's Water & Adventure Park are other entertainment facilities that can be visited in the area. There are 4 restaurants next to the Fishing Pier at Okaloosa Island. Our favorite is The Crap Trap. You will love eating in all the restaurants, they all have a nice ocean view.
